The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will host the 2026 Abbott World Marathon Majors Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships on 24 May 2026.
WELCOME FUNCTION - 2026 ABBOTTWMM MTT AGE GROUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
International athletes and their companions are invited to celebrate the start of the 2026 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon by attending the Opening Concert of the official Welcome Function for the 2026 Abbott World Marathon Majors Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Championships.
Experience a special performance by the internationally acclaimed Ndlovu Youth Choir, who will, with their vibrant harmonies and energetic rhythms, provide a powerful introduction to South Africa and the excitement of marathon weekend.

Venue: DHL Stadium, Fritz Sonnenberg Road, Green Point, Cape Town. Entrance 2 - Grand Stairs Gates (Stadium Bowl, Southern Stand)
